This course is set on 150 acres of unspoilt, rolling, quiet countryside with majestic views of East Clare.The 18-hole course opened in 1997 and is very popular with visitors both from over-seas and within Ireland. East Clare Golf Club operates a "pay as you play" course and it is the policy to ensure visitors are accommodated at all times. The championship course has been designed by noted golf architect Dr. Arthur Spring. The par of the course is 71 with more than 6,500 yards of fairways. Hazards include several lakes, bunkers, streams and trees. The course is located just five minutes drive from beautiful Lough Derg and about half an hour from Shannon Airport.Golfing visitors wishing to stay locally will be assisted by our Club in arranging accommodation. The area offers a wide range of leisure activities, including cruising, water sports, equestrian pursuits etc Plans are now well under way for the construction of a multi-purpose new clubhouse, whilst the present building provides a comfortable compromise with all amenities.Society bookings are available both mid-week and weekends. Sandwiches and snacks are always available and light meals can be provided. ________________________________________________

CLUB OUTING TO SPAIN: Twenty four club members went on the Costa del Sol golf holiday, headed by captain Nick Ryan, in early May, and played on five different courses, organised by Tom Mannion Travel. The members and captain would like to thank Eddie Fennessy who organised the competitions and scorecards; also to Mid-west Landscape, East Digiphone, and FDB Insurances for their sponsorship of prizes, and to Nippon Express for the souvenir shirts.
